No expectations
To succeed
Not for kids like
You and me
They told us not to try
They told us not to waste our time
The paths that we were meant to take
To end up like our fathers
Are all that they expected
But we never listened
Thankfully
In the absence
Of family
We had each other
We didn't give in and
We didn't forget
The dreams we had
And the goals we had set
It wasn't easy
It never is
But it's worth it
In the end
To prove them wrong
To prove to yourself
You've got what it takes
Inside of you
Life just wasn't
handed to us
On a silver platter
Some people have it easy
We never got that lucky
You can't let it
Make you bitter
You can't let it win
You've got to use your anger
To benefit
Yourself
And when you think
You won't make it out
You gotta pick yourself up
Because you don't have a choice
Others can fail
They'll be alright
But kids like us
One of the most well-respected straight-edge hardcore bands ever to come out of the DC scene. Connor is quite a talented hardcore musician, playing vocals for Protester, playing drums for DC crossover thrashers Red Death, and also playing very awesome on guitar for these guys from Line of Sight. They've also put out a 7-inch EP on Youngblood Records called Dissent that I've been wanting to get my hands on so bad, in case you guys haven't heard. tjjaxx4625
Incredible youth crew hardcore. This EP is fast, aggressive, and thoughtful. If you loved The First Step you will love Union of Faith. Refreshing to hear a band like this. A Jake In Their World
Northeast straight-edge hardcore taken to the cathartic, infectious extreme; a fiery EP fueled by spite, spirit, and sick riffs. Bandcamp New & Notable May 24, 2023
